I LIKE... GARBAGE.

Garbage. Such a weird thing to like, right? Well, there's this guy up the street from my house that makes sculptures out of his:

Usually we think of garbage as fact. But after attending a friend's clothing exchange and discovering these sculptures, I think of garbage as an opinion. As in, "I'm throwing this away because I think it's garbage." At the clothing exchange, I was shocked and a little proud that my unwanted items became loved parts of other peoples' wardrobes. My friends' clothing made it into my wardrobe as well. After the exchange, everything that was left on the dining room table went to the Goodwill so that some other girl could enjoy our garbage. I guess there's no such thing as garbage.

Speaking of garbage, I lost my basketball game. Not just any old game-- the championship. After waking up early for every Saturday practice, sweating way more than my skin could handle, hobbling around like an old woman recovering form a hip replacement after conditioning week, and sacrificing what once was a thriving social life, I lost my game. I am a loser. Loser loser loser. But even though I played like garbage, there is life after high school basketball. I just don't know what it is yet.

On a happier note, I got into college. YAY! I will be going to Oberlin next year, where Winter has a different definition. Winter in San Francisco is a joke. Fog is as cold as it gets. I will have some adapting to do next year.

Are there thrift stores in Ohio?

And that's why I like garbage.
